2001 - Basel - Switzerland

Tenth Meeting, 7 - 8 June 2001

The PAGE2001 meeting was held at the Congress Center Horburg and was hosted and sponsored by Novartis.

 

List of participants

PAGE 2001 will be the tenth meeting of PAGE. The scientific program will cover two days. On Thursday the PAGE program will lean towards methodological/statistical issues, while Friday will be devoted to more clinical topics.

COMPANION EVENTS

Two companion scientific events with themes closely related to PAGE and that may be of interest to PAGE participants will be organised adjacent to PAGE 2001:

  • The Spring Seminar of the Basel Biometric Society (BBS) on Resampling and Simulation in Medical Research on Wednesday, June 6, at the same location as PAGE. (To register use the following address: http://www.unibas.ch/bbsPlease use the button 'Spring seminar')
  • A symposium by Pharsight Corporation on Tuesday, June 5 in another location in Basel (for further information, please, mail to: page@pharsight.com )

The three events (PAGE, BBS, Pharsight) are adjacent in time on purpose, but will require a SEPARATE registration for each (Details for the companion events to be announced early 2001)

The PAGE 2001 meeting will be held at Congress Center Horburg, Novartis, Basel, Switzerland. The building is adjacent to Novartis headquarters, but outside of the area where entrance badges are required. The Horburg Center can be easily reached by tram from any place in Basel, or by walking along the Rhine river from the center of the city (15 min).

Start of PAGE program will be on Wednesday, June 6 at Congress Center Horburg
4.00pm-6.00pm: PAGE Registration desk will be open for pick-up of badge, abstract booklet, vouchers.
6.00 pm-7.00 pm: Apero offered by BBS to Spring Seminar/PAGE participants, intended also as a welcome event to participants of PAGE only.

The meeting has an informal atmosphere and participants are encouraged to present their work in the form of an oral presentation or a poster. You are explicitly encouraged to present work on clinical applications. In contrast to previous years, the PAGE meeting is planned to last for two whole days instead of 1.5.

Fees for regular participants will be 180 Swiss francs (120 euro) and include coffee breaks, lunches on Thursday and Friday and the social event on Thursday evening. A restricted number of places (30) is reserved for students with proof of their academic status for the reduced registration fee of 30 Swiss francs (20 euro). Cost for hotels is not included.

Payment of fees will be possible through bank transfer ( Basler Kantonalbank, BKBBCHBB 16 451.593.46 (PAGE 2001), to identify your registration, please add your name to the transaction record) and also at the meeting in cash in Swiss Francs only. No cheques or credit cards can be accepted because of the associated excessive charges.

FINAL DEADLINE for REGISTRATION and ABSTRACTS:
31 MARCH 2001

Abstracts (150-300 words) must be submitted by 31 MARCH 2001 in a special electronic submission section of the PAGE web-page.If internet access cannot be obtained, the abstract may be submitted by e-mail as attachment in RTF or ASCII format to the meeting secretariat. Because of virus and time of translation, NO OTHER FORMATS WILL BE ACCEPTED. If you do not have e-mail, or require additional instrutions please contact the meeting secretariat.

No registration will be possible on the day of the meeting. The number of participants is limited, early registration is recommended and electronic registration is preferred.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

Staying within Basel is the option to be preferred due to the efficient public transportation connections. Staying in France (St-Louis) is cumbersome.
